Greyhound Intermediate Arts Integration Focus School
Welcome to Greyhound Intermediate “Arts Integration Focus School” pilot program 2012-13. Eaton Rapids, Michigan
"Arts integration as an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding though an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects to an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both." (Arts Integration Summer Institute)
Greyhound Intermediate students have had the opportunity to be part of the Arts Integrated Focus Schools initiative through the collaboration of the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts and Creativity at the Wharton Center, The Kennedy Center, and the Ingham Intermediate School District.
Thirteen teachers from grades levels 3rd - 5th and our Principal attended programming and professional development offered through the Ingham ISD and the Wharton Center in East Lansing beginning with the Summer Institute, August 2012. Teachers collaborated and implemented arts integrated curriculum across content areas including English Language Arts, Visual Art, Technology, and Music.
