5th Grade: RESTAURANT Logos
5th grade students in Mrs. Jewetts's ELA classes (Brooks, Clarke, Jewett) created their own restaurant scenarios.
In ELA, they brainstormed ideas for their restaurants: what type of food?, Decor?, Theme? What would their restaurant be called? Who is their clientele? Students took their ideas to art class and further brainstormed ideas for their restaurant logo designs. Students reviewed many existing logos and wrote about the purpose of a logo. They each created at least three rough sketches for their restaurant and chose one to develop into an effective logo design to represent their restaurant. Through a creative process of creating, revising and reflecting, the students came up with some clever designs. They are planning to write a persuasive writing piece "advertising" their restaurants and incorporating their logos
